Maps In Schools

The Geologic Maps in Schools Project is sponsored by the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies and the Corpus Christi Geological Society. We are fortunate to have received support from the GCAGS, as well as from the U.S. Geological Survey and other public agencies, to begin distributing the fantastic Tapestry in Time and Terrain geologic map to schools in Florida. The maps have been laminated and framed through volunteer efforts and are being delivered as a gift to science classrooms and school media centers for geosciences education. The school locations receiving the map will be posted on the project webpage maintained by the Corpus Christi Geological Society, one of our sister societies under the association umbrella of the GCAGS.

We have a lot of folks to thank for getting us started on the Maps in Schools project , and acknowledgements will be forthcoming here, as well as future updates on the progress by the SEGS members who are making this project a success. Please keep checking back for more information!
